Media Centre 29 April 2014 A 27 year old female from Grassy Park was caught red-handed in the early hours of Saturday morning (2014-04-27) while busy wrapping smaller plastic bags of tik with an estimated street value of R100 000-00. The arrest follows after the SAPS members received information concerning drugs being sold from a residence in the Ottery Flats in Ottery. Just after midnight the members immediately executed a search operation at the premises and found the 27 year old female, still busy packing smaller packets of tik inside the flat. The police members found small packets of tik and an undisclosed amount of cash. They also seized a scale, a sealer and about 900 empty small plastic packets. The female suspect was arrested on charges of dealing, alternatively possession of drugs. The suspect will appear in the Wynberg Magistrates' Court today (2014-04-29). In another unrelated success on Friday (2014-04-25) morning around 05:00, SAPS members from Laaiplek police station and members from the West Coast K9 (Dog) Unit arrested five people for possession of ammunition. The suspects, two males aged 24 and 32 and three females aged 19, 20 and 27 were arrested at a house in Heide Street, Noordhoek in possession of 13 x 9mm ammunition rounds and one gram of tik, and an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects will appear in the Saldanha Court today (2014-04-29) on charges of possession of ammunition and drugs. -End- Media Enquiries: Constable
