Update: Two bodies of alleged kidnapped children found

Potchefstroom: Following an intensive search by the police with assistance of members of the community, the bodies of two boys; Onalenna Molehabangwe and Gontse Cholo who were reported to have been kidnapped, were found today in a swimming pool at one of the residences at Imperial Reserve, Mahikeng.

On Tuesday, 5 March 2019, a report was made to the police that Onalenna and Gontse both aged 10, were allegedly kidnapped while playing at a park in Montshiwa Location, Mmabatho.

The pair from Extension 38 were allegedly kidnapped after being lured with potato chips by occupants in a Volkswagen Polo. They were both learners at Podile Primary School in Ramosadi village. 

At this stage, a case of inquest has been opened for investigation.     

The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane expressed her heartfelt condolences to the families and urged members of the community to remain calm and afford the police an opportunity to conduct a thorough investigation.
