Media Invite WESTERN CAPE - The South African Police Service (SAPS) will host a fundraising event to raise funds for the educational needs of the children of police officers who died in the line of duty. From January 2023 to date, more than 30 police officers died in the line of duty. The Deputy Minister of Police, Mr Cassel Mathale and the National Commissioner of SAPS, General Fannie Masemola will join 100 Golf Players from various organisations and private companies in pledging and raising funds for the South African Police Service Education Trust Fund (SAPSET). Through the South African Police Service Education Trust (SAPSET) Fund the Service is able to provide financial support to the educational needs to many of the children of deceased members. SAPSET currently funds children from grade RR to tertiary level. Details of the event are as follows:
