Media Statement NELSPRUIT – The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Mpumalanga Lieutenant General Mondli Zuma hereby warns the public / job-seekers about a bogus job listing advertisement which indicates that there are vacant positions for internship opportunities within the service. The advertisement has been circulated on social media platforms. Members of the public are therefore warned not to fall prey to such malicious scams as there are no internship or learning programme posts available currently nor has the province put out such an advertisement. Such adverts are misleading and malicious in nature and are usually intended to extort money from victims/ job-seekers. The public is also urged to be vigilant and contact their nearest police stations for clarity to confirm the legitimacy of such adverts in future. Jobs in the South African Police Service are not for sale, legitimate vacant posts are advertised through the media (print and electronic) as well as the SAPS website. The Provincial Commissioner therefore categorically condemns this barbaric tendency of these unscrupulous individuals spreading false and misleading information with the intention to target unsuspecting victims.
