Media Statement KING WILLIAMS TOWN - As we are in the journey to combat crime during this festive season, cluster police together with NIU embarked in an operation last night from 20h00 till 04h00. Members worked at Dimbaza and King Williams Town policing precincts doing tracing of suspects, stop and search and focusing on closing of shebeens as part of crime prevention duties. They managed to arrest more than (30) suspects aged between 19 and 45 years for warrant of arrest, drunken driving and possession of drugs. One liquor outlet was closed for noncompliance, two pellet gun, rifle, drugs and dangerous weapons were confiscated by police. A R700-00 fine was issued to a driver who was driving without a valid licence. The Cluster Commander Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga emphasized that police will continue in intensifying high visibility during this festive season to ensure a crime free society in our policing precincts. Detectives will continue with tracing of suspects for cases that were opened for investigation, he added. These suspects will appear in different Magistrate Courts on Monday. Ends
