PORT ELIZABETH - Safer Festive Season operations are intended to ensure that our communities can enjoy a peaceful and safe holiday period therefore the commitment of every police official is crucial in realising this vison.

On Thursday evening, 14 November 2019, from 22:00 until 06:00 this morning, 15 November 2019, detective officers from Bethelsdorp, Mount Road, Walmer and Gelvandale conducted raids at various houses in search of suspects wanted in their cases.

A total of twenty-eight (28) suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from armed robbery, housebreaking, robbery, theft, shoplifting, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and malicious damage to Property (MITP).

The arrested will appear in various Magistrate’s Courts on Monday, 18 November 2019.

These successes are an indication to the community and a warning to the criminals that the police will not be taking a break over the festive season. The community is encouraged to download the MySAPS App and send tip-offs to the police in a bid to clamp down on any criminal elements within their communities.
