Manhunt for suspects in triple shooting

PORT ELIZABETH - Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Liziwe Ntshinga has immediately implemented the 72 hour activation plan to hunt down the perpetrators allegedly involved in the shooting of two children and their mother in Booysens Park last on Wednesday night, 12 February 2020.

It is alleged that on Wednesday, 12 February 2020 at about 23:45, the mother (39) and her two children aged 2 and 6 years were sleeping when unknown males fired shots through the bedroom window of the house in Canary Street in Polar Park, in the Booysens Park area. The 2-year-old was fatally wounded while her brother, aged 6 sustained a gunshot wound on his knee. The mother also sustained a gunshot wound in her stomach. They were all taken to hospital.

The motive for the shooting is yet to be established and suspects are unknown at this stage.

Police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.

Lt Gen Ntshinga upon hearing the news of the shooting, assures the community that, “Police will be working around the clock to hunt down these suspects. We condemn such callous attack in the strongest possible way. We are calling on the communities to work with us and not to harbour these criminals. We will not tolerate such heinous attacks on innocent children and women. “
