EASTERN CAPE – The Mbizana based Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation arrested a 33-year-old suspect for possession of unlicensed firearm on 15 February 2023 in Lusikisiki.

It is alleged that on 15 February 2023 at 00:30, a disruptive operation was conducted at Gwexintaba Location in Lusikisiki where the team searched the premises and recovered a shotgun with ammunition. The firearm had its serial number filed off and it will be sent for ballistic testing to ascertain whether it was used in criminal activities. 

The suspect will appear in court in due course.
