Media Statement MOKOPANE- The South African Police Service in Mokopane yesterday conducted a crime awareness campaign as part of 16 Days of Activism for no Violence Against Women and Children campaign. The campaign was conducted at Extension 19 taxi rank, led by Social Crime Prevention Coordinator, Warrant Officer Caroline Mashala, Communication Officer, Sergeant Mmadikgale Masingi and Mokopani SAPS FCS Unit. The SAPS was joined by other stakeholders such as SASSA, Department of Correctional Services Ambassador, Department of Justice, Department of Transport and Community Safety, Department of Government Communication, Department of Social Development, Mogalakwena local Municipality, Pastors fraternal, SANBS, Waterberg district Taxi Association, Sunsloot Youth Development centre, Mokopane FM, Victim empowerment, YCOP, Community Policing Forum, Community Safety forum andMogalakwena security and Gender committee Cosatu. The following topics were discussed during an engagement session with the community: * How to apply for a protection order. * Breaking the silence on Gender-Based Violence and femicide *Child Abuse and child neglect. * Abuse related offences such as economical, emotional and physical. * Sexual offences. * Stokvel scams. * Partnership policing. *Covid-19 regulations. The Station Commander, Colonel Isaac Mantjane encouraged the community to join community structures such as community policing forum, community safety forum and neighbourhood watch strucutres. He further thanked all the donors who made this campaign a success. Ends
