WESTERN CAPE – Yesterday morning, 30 July 2020 at around 10:00, members attached to Ravensmead SAPS were busy conducting crime prevention duties when they noticed a vehicle loading liquor at a residence in Colorado Street, Ravensmead. They approached the vehicle and went to enquire. After conducting a search of the vehicle and the premises, the members discovered a total of 2068 bottles of whiskey, brandy and wine and boxes of cigarettes. These items have an estimated street value of R1 073 600. A 42-year-old male suspect was arrested on charges of dealing in liquor without a licence as well contravening the Disaster Management Act regulations. He is due in the Bellville Magistrates Court on Monday, 03 August 2020. End
