UITENHAGE - Five suspects were arrested in the early hours of this morning (03:00), Thursday, 13 November 2014, in a joint operation between Uitenhage farmers, members from Uitenhage police, the Uitenhage K9 unit and the Uitenhage Stock Theft Unit.

Farmers from the Wolwefontein area, hosted waylay duties last night and notified members from the Uitenhage Stock Theft Unit, at about 22:45 about suspicious movement on the farm. A team was immediately established and roadblocks were set up on the Steytlerville and Hillwacht roads, in the Uitenhage area. At about 03:00 members noticed the vehicle with the five occupants and the driver was stopped and the vehicle was searched. Five sheep were found in the vehicle and the five suspects were arrested on the spot on charges of stock theft. The five-some are due to appear in the Uitenhage Magistrates' Court on a charge of stock theft soon.
