NELSPRUIT - Boader policing's N4 corridor operation's hard work resulted in the seizure of 5.75kg of dagga valued at R24 150.00 on street value from two different suspects at the R570 road yesterday, Sunday 25 February 2024.

Both suspects were arrested for dealing in dagga and are expected to appear before Nkomazi Magistrate's Court today, Monday 26 February 2024.

Police were conducting a vehicle control checkpoint in Buffelspruit outside Malelane. In the first incident, a 27-year-old woman was found with 3,40kg of dagga estimated at R14 280.00 on street value at about 14:30. She was arrested for dealing in dagga. Hence, her appearance in court today.

In a space of about four hours, a 31-year-old man suspect was arrested on the same spot. The suspect was arrested for possession of 2.35kg of dagga valued at R9 870.00 on street value at about 17:45. The suspect is also expected to appear before Nkomazi Magistrate's Court today, Monday 26 January 2024.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, has welcomed the arrest of the suspects and warned dagga smugglers not to use Mpumalanga for drug trafficking.
