In Brackenfell, members of the same unit reacted on information about drugs and arrested a drug dealer yesterday morning. Tik valued at R2500-00 and R7210-00 cash, believed to be the proceeds of crime were confiscated. He is also due in court tomorrow.

In an unrelated intelligence driven operation by join forces comprising various police units last night, certain identified areas were targeted to address serious and violent crimes, as well as drug related offences. This operation saw the additional deployment of SAPS members on the streets of Nyanga, Browns Farm, Khayelitsha, Lingelethu West, Darling, Mamre and Atlantis, to maintain law and order to communities usually plagued by crime. Besides three wanted criminals arrested on outstanding cases, nine suspects between the ages of 18 and 47 were arrested for the possession of an assortment of drugs in Darling. Cash to the tune of R4479-00 was also seized. The suspects are expected to make their court appearance tomorrow in Malmesbury for dealing in drugs.

In Table View our members are embarking on an extensive investigation into the discovery of twelve firearms in a vehicle, following an arrest made by members of the City’s Traffic Department this morning during their roadblock in Blaauwberg Road.

SAPS management wishes to express their sincere gratitude towards all law enforcement agencies for bringing criminals to book with special mention to the traffic officers for removing a criminal and his cache of firearms from society.
