Western Cape: Yesterday (2015-11-05) at about 14:30 Mitchells Plain SAPS members received information about fireworks that were being sold at Mongoose Street, Tafelsig. The sector commander of Tafelsig Warrant Officer Raymond Solomon followed up on the received information and upon arrival at the suspected house he confiscated 137 different types of fireworks. A 47-year-old man was given a warning for illegal possession of fireworks.

This also serves as a warning to the community at large that fireworks can be dangerous and harmful to children. The community who wishes to set off fireworks can do so at the designated areas identified by the City of Cape Town for the discharge of fireworks.
