POLOKWANE - The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has praised Police for their remarkable skill as they finally managed to arrest two suspects charged with murder of the missing woman and her 2-year-old daughter who were reported missing in mid May 2025.

The police in Thohoyandou, Vhembe District, through their investigative  skills and abilities, joined by the Provincial team of investigators dealing with missing persons ,  managed to arrest two suspects aged 43 and 32 for the murder of a mother aged 34 and her  2 years old daughter. The woman and a daughter went missing on 19 May 2025, and the investigation commenced in earnest

On 30 July 2025, the Task Team comprising  SAPS Thohoyandou intervention Team, Thohoyandou Detectives and Provincial Missing Person Team's followed a credible lead   which led to the discovery of the body of mother and of her daughter. As a result of this gruesome discovery two suspects were linked to the incident and were immediately arrested

During the process, it was also discovered that the bodies were without heads. More disturbingly one of the suspects is alleged to be the boyfriend of the deceased. The motive behind this heinous act of crime is still under investigation.

The two suspects, Tshilidzi Phalandwa(43)and Balangani Sedzani Tshivhombedze (32), appeared in Vuwani Magistrate court on 01 August 2025, they were remaded in custody and the matter was  postponed for further investigation to 12 August 2025.

The police investigation is ongoing.
