Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Team was conducting their operation in rooting-out drugs in the Durban CBD when they received information about drug-trade that was in operation in one of the buildings in Pickering Street, Point. Police proceeded to the area and the owner of the place fled. Police chased him to no avail. One kilogram of dagga, 18 pieces of cocaine already packed for trade and 10 full moon rocks of cocaine were found inside the house. Police seized the drugs with the street value of more than R21 000.00.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni applauded the Narcotics Team for the seizure of drugs. "We are confident that the drug dealer will be arrested and the fight to make our province a drug-free zone will continue," she said.
