Media Centre 22 September 2014 Prieska Police are investigating a case of possession of drugs after a couple was arrested at their house in Prieska. The SAPS Prieska Crime Prevention Unit with the assistance of the SAPS De Aar K9 Unit followed up on information and raided a house in 8th Street, Prieska. During the search of the premises 55 whole mandrax tablets, 34 quarters, 5 halves and some mandrax powder wrapped in foil were found at the premises. Police arrested 2 suspects and charged them with possession of mandrax. The drugs have an estimated street value of R7000, 00. The suspects are expected to appear in the Prieska Magistrates' Court today. "The Prieska Cluster Commander, Lt Col Bennet Mbombo reiterated that drugs are a social evil and cannot be allowed in society.
