Media Statement PORT ELIZABETH - A 40-year-old Bethelsdorp woman was arrested this morning by members of the Anti-Gang Unit and detained for dealing in Schedule 5 tablets. At about 10:00, police followed up on information received that a house in Bowkers Street was selling Schedule 5 tablets to the community without a prescription. A search warrant was executed and police confiscated a sealed bottle containing 1000 Stilpane tablets, a sealed container containing 100 Purata tablets, 20 loose Stilpane, 10 Purata and 4 Brazepam tablets. The estimated street value of the tablets is R 1 100-00. A cellphone belonging to the woman was also confiscated. The woman will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 19 January 2021. Police are warning people that Schedule 5 tablets, as the ones that were seized, must require a prescription from a medical practitioner and cannot be bought from any individual who is not a doctor.
