UPINGTON - The Section Head for Media Relations in the Northern Cape Provincial, Colonel Cherelle Ehlers and Sergeant Molefi Shemane, together with Sergeant Omphile Masegela from the ZF Mgcawu District Communication Office, participated in a live talk show on Radio Riverside on Tuesday, 05 August 2025. The discussion centered around the South African Police Service’s initiatives in honour of Women’s Month, focusing on the invaluable role women play in society. Key topics included the protection of women and children, the critical role of men in combating gender-based violence (GBV), and the importance of active community involvement. The SAPS urged victims of GBV and femicide to break the silence and report such crimes to law enforcement. Colonel Ehlers extended an invitation to the public to attend an integrated Community Imbizo scheduled for Wednesday, 06 August 2025, at 10:00 in Paballelo. This event will provide a platform for the community to engage directly with law enforcement agencies and other key stakeholders, fostering partnerships aimed at addressing crime and strengthening trust between the SAPS and the public. An invitation was also extended to the community to attend the multi-disciplinary Women in Law Enforcement parade at the Robert Gunda Stadium in Paballelo on 07 August 2025 at 10:00.
