WESTERN CAPE - In pursuit of a safer environment for the people of this province, members attached to the Provincial Integrated Team took to the streets of Khayelitsha yesterday. Their efforts were rewarded with the arrest of a 50-year-old man who was apprehended in his BMW with a .38 Special revolver without a serial number in his possession, after his suspicious behaviour prompted the team to pull him over.

The suspect is scheduled to make his court appearance in Khayelitsha this morning.

Crime combatting initiatives of the same team such as vehicle check points and random searches also landed an 18-year-old suspect behind bars for the possession of ecstasy tablets and dagga and a 34 year old suspect who was sought for a business robbery in Harare earlier this month. These suspects are also scheduled for court appearances once they have been charged.
