Members first converge on a known illegal drug outlet in Jan Makai Street, Bridgeton, Oudtshoorn and upon searching the premises, found a plastic bag concealing 400 Mandrax tablets in the bedroom. They also found four bankies containing Tik in the same room. Subsequently they arrested a 32-year-old man for the Illegal possession of Drugs.

The convoy of dedicated members spread their wings to the George CBD where they executed stop and search operations by means of high density vehicle and foot patrols in the vicinity of the Taxi-rank. During these patrols members encountered three men at different occasions whom acted suspiciously. Upon searching these men, members found smaller amounts of Mandrax tablets, Tik and dagga in their possession. They were subsequently arrested and detained at the George police station. They are between the ages 22-and-32-years old.

Once they have been charged all of them will appear in the Oudtshoorn and George magistrates’ courts respectively on charges of Illegal Possession of Drugs.

The Eden Cluster Commander, Maj Gen Reddy has praised these members for their dedication to rid our communities of this scourge of drug addiction.
