CHRIS HANI DISTRICT: Closure of Operation Gijima Tsotsi yielded positive results last night.  The operation started on Thursday, 18 March 2021 and covered all the problematic station areas around the District.  The aim for the operation is to reduce crime through the stations.

Last night police focused at Mlungisi and Queenstown policing precinct.

Following are the successes for both stations.

MLUNGISI

*One suspect was arrested for dealing in drugs
*One suspect was arrested for possession of drugs
*Four suspects were arrested for drunken driving and three were arrested for drunken disorderly

QUEENSTOWN

*Two suspects were arrested for possession of drugs
*Two suspects were arrested for dealing in dagga
*Two were arrested for dealing in drugs
*Three were arrested for selling liquor without licence
*25 were issued with J534's for failing to wear musk's
*Seven were issued with J534's for failing to confine themselves in their premises

All arrested suspects will appear before Queenstown Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 23 March 2021.
