Media Centre 16 April 2014 The police in Rustenburg are investigating two counts of Murder and two of attempted murder after four men was shot at on Wednesday, 16 April 2014 at around 11:00 near Bleskop Hostel. It is alleged that four taxi drivers were having a conversation when an unknown Volkswagen Jetta vehicle stopped nearby. According to the information available at this stage, three of the four occupants got out of the car and fired shots at the victims before fleeing the scene with the same vehicle. It is alleged that two men, both aged 47 and taxi owners, were certified dead on the scene. The other victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries while the fourth man survived without any injury. The motive of the incident is unknown at this stage and no one has been arrested. At this stage, the incident is not linked to the ongoing protected strike of Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) in the platinum belt. -End- Media Enquiries: Brigadier
