EASTERN CAPE - The good team work between different units and the community led to the arrest of a 31-year-old suspect for the possession of drugs.

This arrest came after Aliwal North SAPS K9 members and District Operation Command Centre members embarked on an operation on Monday, 12 April 2021. An identified house was searched in the Joe Gqabi area that led to the arrest of the man.

The following was confiscated: 10 small plastics bags containing Chrystal Meth (Tik) and 9 small plastic bags containing Dagga.

Two of the packages were found in the suspect’s trousers and the others in the house.  The drugs has a total value of R1 240. 00.

The suspect was arrested for possession of drugs and will appear in the Aliwal North magistrate Court today, 13 April 2021.

The acting District Commissioner Brigadier Rudolph Adolph commended the members on the swift reaction and recovery of the drugs. "Every bust is less drugs to reach our streets and destroy our young vulnerable children," he said.
