The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba continues to prioritise safety at schools with the sole objective of maintaining a crime free learning environment.

The Provincial Commissioner today, 02 April 2019, led a Team of Officers and other members of the South African Police Service during a safer schools programme at Calvin College in the Burgersfort Cluster.

These visits are aimed at dealing with the criminal activities that are most prevelant within school enviroments in the province and to empower learners about the crime tendencies in general and an expected conduct of a child at school.

The Provincial Commissioner was accompanied by the Provincial Social Crime prevention and the Burgersfort Cluster members. The campaign was followed by a courtesy visit to the Junior Provincial Commissioner's parental home at Ga-Mmampuru village outside Burgersfort.

The General gave emphasis on the following issues:

* Respect

* Importance of education

* Time management

* Drugs

* Dangerous weapons

* Bullying

He further acknowledged both the school and family for raising the Junior Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo, "its signal enough that indeed there are future leaders in schools and 'charity begins at home' because it takes a responsible parent to raise a child of such a calibre," concluded General Ledwaba.
