Media Statement GQEBERHA - Two suspects were arrested in a house robbery in Kwazakele, while a vehicle was recovered abandoned after a house robbery in Bushy Park last night, 23/04. In the first house robbery, it is alleged that at approximately 19:15 in Seaview Road, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) the complainant was at home with his parents. When he went outside with his dog, he was confronted by five suspects of which three were armed with fire arms. The suspects forced the complainant back into the house where he was tied up. They demanded money and firearms. While the one suspect stayed with the complainant and his parents, the others ransacked the house. Cash, cellphones, TV and jewellery were taken. They left taking the complainant's vehicle, a white Ford Ranger bakkie. On Saturday 24/04 at approximately 01:30 the vehicle was found abandoned on the Old Uitenhage Road. No shots were fire and no one was injured during the robbery. Kabega Park Detectives are investigating a case of house robbery. In another unrelated house robbery in Kwazakele it is alleged than on Friday 23/04 at approximately 20:30 the complainant and his wife arrived home in Zokwana Street, Kwazakele. As they were entering the house, two suspects attacked the complainant and assaulted him. They searched them and the suspects fled with two cell phones and cash. The alleged suspects are known to the complainant and he contacted the police, who immediately followed up on the robbery. Both suspect aged 28 and 42 years old were arrested at their house and the cell phones were recovered. The suspects will appear in the New Brighton Magistrate court on Monday 26/04 on charges of house robbery.
