EASTERN CAPE - Five suspects aged between 27 and 41 were arrested for dealing in dagga at R56 between Dodrecht and Molteno on Sunday 16 May 2021 at about 15:30 after they were found transporting 115 bags of dagga.

The arrest came after police received information of dagga being transported from Lusikisiki to Cape Town.

A multidisciplinary task team consisting of Queenstown CI, Queenstown K9, Aliwal North K9 Aliwal North OCC and Aliwal North CI was established.

Four suspected quantum were spotted and searched and 115 bags of dagga were confiscated. All suspects were detained and will appear before Molteno Magistrate Court on Tuesday, 18 May 2021

Chris Hani District Commissioner Major General Funeka Siganga thanked all members who were involved in the operation for their commitment and dedication.
