Gqeberha: Anti-Gang Unit members arrested a 28-year-old Bloemendal man last night, 20 July 2021 and confiscated a firearm.

It is alleged that at about 23:10, members were patrolling when they noticed two males standing in the front yard of a house in Didloft Street in Bloemendal. As the police vehicle stopped, the suspect started running. He was apprehended and on searching him, a revolver (serial number filed off) was found in his possession.

He was arrested and detained for possession of a prohibited firearm and illegal possession of ammunition. He is expected to appear in court soon.
