MDANTSANE - Determined to create a safer environment for all people living in the country and intercept every plan of the criminal network, Mdantsane Operational Command Centre (OCC) members arrested three suspects for possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition, bank cards, drugs and possible stolen goods today.

The members acted on information and apprehended two suspects (41) and (31) respectively for possession of four unlicensed firearms (7,65, 9mm pistol, 7.65 and .38 special revolver), ammunition, two cellphones in Newlands outside Mdantsane.

Their investigation led to arrest of another suspect, a 33-year-old for possession of two unlicensed firearms (.38 special revolver and 9mm pistol), ammunition, seventeen packets of Crystal Methamphetamine (Tik), police uniform, Dixon television set "42 inch", Dixon speakers, two hundred and twenty (222) new bank cards, two cellphones in NU1, Mdantsane.

Buffalo City Metro District Commissioner, Major General Henry Vos applauded the members for their efforts, "It can only be nothing else but passion that drives these members to achieve this success. One or two firearms out of the streets amounts to many lives being saved and murders, robberies that are prevented. This can only be possible if we work together with community members through information sharing," he said.
