NELSPRUIT - The members deployed under Operation Vala Umgodi continue to make significant progress in addressing illegal mining activities. In the latest success, three illegal immigrants were arrested on Monday, 22 September 2025, during a stop-and-search operation conducted near the Middleburg Toll Plaza on the N4.

The suspects, aged between 29 and 36, were arrested for not having valid documentation permitting them to be in South Africa. They have been charged with Contravening the Immigration Act.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Emalahleni Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, 23 September 2025.

Detectives are working collaboratively with officials from the Department of Home Affairs to ascertain the status of the arrested. suspects.
