Prioritised operations clamp down on drug dealers: Kwazakele, Gqeberha

GQEBERHA – Prioritised and focussed driven operations conducted in the Nelson Mandela Bay district has proven to be successful with criminals feeling the heat and a drug dealer dealt a heavy blow today, 31 July 2021 in Kwazakele. 

At about 13:45, alert SAPS Kwazakele members were conducting patrols in Veeplaas, focussing on illegal activities when they noticed a female behaving suspiciously inside a house in Jamela Street. The members stopped at the house and caught the woman trying to hide two plastic bags in her bedroom. On searching the bags, 1810 mandrax tablets were found inside.  The 27-year-old woman was arrested on a charge of dealing in drugs. The estimated street value of the drugs is R108 600.

The suspect will appear in the New Brighton magistrate’s court on Monday, 02 August 2021 on a charge of dealing in drugs.
