BUTTERWORTH - A 47-year-old female arrested for murder that occurred at Butterworth policing area on Thursday night.

It is alleged that the suspect had a quarrel with her husband (40) while attending a Farewell function. The suspect who is the wife to the deceased hit him with an empty bottle and he fell down. He succumbed to death on the scene. The suspect was arrested for Murder and will appear at Butterworth Magistrate Court on Tuesday 10 August 2021.

The Acting Amathole District Commissioner Brigadier condemns such acts as SAPS is fighting the scourge in Gender-based violence cases in the District.  "This sends a strong message to victims of violence to speak out to avoid being involved in crimes where they will be arrested and be behind bars", he added.
