Provincial Commissioner orders investigation into the Rustenburg murder and attempted murders

POTCHEFSTROOM - The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena has ordered a full investigation into an incident in which a man was fatally wounded while three others escaped with serious injuries, when an unknown gunman fired shots on Thursday afternoon, 19 August 2021 in Rustenburg.

According to information available at this stage, reports suggest that people were standing outside at the offices of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) when an unknown man fired several shots leading to the death of a 40-year-old man. Three other men were seriously injured during the apparent attack. All the injured men were admitted to hospital for medical treatment.

The motive of the incident is yet to be determined and no one has been arrested.
