Media Statement GRAAFF-REINET – The SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) is investigating the rape of a 14-year-old girl after she was allegedly raped by three men in Kroonvale on Friday, 20 August 2021 at about 18.00. It is alleged that the young victim returned from her elderly sister and while she was walking past a high school in Bree Street, Kroonvale, she was approached by four men of which, one of the suspects was in possession of a sharp object with which he threatened to harm the victim. While the suspect threatened the victim the other men started to undress the victim and raped her. During the rape, the victim managed to escape and reported her traumatic ordeal to her mother. The victim was later taken to Midlands hospital where the rape case was confirmed. The rape case was opened on Saturday, 21 August 2021 by the child’s mother. The suspects have not been arrested yet, however, police investigations continue.
