Media Statement DURBAN – It is alleged that on 09 September 2021 at 20:30, Petros Buthelezi (54) was at his home at Vumankala area with his family when two armed men entered. At gunpoint, the suspects robbed the occupants in the house of cellphones and speakers. The suspects shot Buthelezi on the chest and also stabbed him before fleeing the scene. The victim was declared dead at the scene. A case of murder was opened at Babanango SAPS. On Friday, 10 September 2021, the suspects involved in the murder were spotted at Nquthu taxi rank and police were immediately alerted. Babanango police officers swiftly arrested two suspects aged 21 and 22 for murder. They are appearing in the Babanango Magistrates Court today. Ends
