GAUTENG - On Saturday 05 June 2021, the 31-year-old complainant was with friends coming from entertainment in Tokoza, driving in a vehicle when they stopped at one of the places to get some water.

The complainant alighted and as she was about to enter the yard, an unknown male standing by the gate grabbed her, pointed her with a firearm, and threatened to shoot her if she resist or make noise. The accused  ordered her to walk closer to him like a boyfriend.

He took her to a secluded area and raped her twice before releasing her. The case was opened at SAPS Tokoza, taken over by Warrant Officer Wonder Banger of Katlehong Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit.  The Warrant Officer visited the scene immediately, interviewed witnesses, who saw the accused earlier before the rape and managed to get the accused 's name.

A meticulous investigation followed, which led to the discovery of the accused's ID, and the arrest of the accused after he went into hiding, but he was arrested on another case in Primrose.

The excellent investigation by Warrant Officer Banger led to the conviction, sentencing, and further linkage of the accused to two more cases.

On 13 August 2025, Ben Tebogo Khazamula was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Palmridge Magistrate court.

Ekurhuleni District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole commended Warrant Officer Wonder Banger for the dedication demonstrated on investigation, which led to the hefty sentence and squeezing the rapist 's space in the District.
