Suspect arrested with homemade zip gun

CAPE TOWN - Continues efforts by members of the Western Cape Flying Squad to curb gang violence in our communities yielded positive results when they arrested an 18-year-old suspect for the possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition last night, 29 October 2021 in Kraaifontein.

The members were busy with stop and search operations when they found the suspect in possession of a homemade zip gun with ammunition.

In an unrelated matter, members of Atlantis police arrested a 27-year-old suspect for the possession of a unlicensed firearm when they stopped a suspicious vehicle in Cawdor Street, Saxonsea, Atlantis on Thursda, 28 October 2021. The members found a pistol in the vehicle.

The suspects will make their respective court appearances in Kuilsrivier and Atlantis Magistrate’s courts on Tuesday, 02 November 2021.
