Media Statement Efforts to rid our communities of the illegal drug trade yielded positive results when members of the Grassy Park Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 39-year-old suspect for dealing in Crystal Meth (tik) in Walmer Road Parkwood yesterday. The members were busy with patrols when they stopped and searched a suspicious looking vehicle. While searching the vehicle the members found a large quantity of crystal meth in the vehicle with an estimated street value of R10 000. In an unrelated matter members of the Western Cape Flying Squad arrested a 31-year-old suspect for the possession of a prohibited firearm at an intersection in Lingulethu West yesterday. The members were busy with patrols when they noticed the suspect with a firearm in his hand trying to open the door of a delivery vehicle. When he saw the police approaching, he started to run. The suspect was arrested with a. 38 special revolver in his possession. Once charged the suspects will make their respective court appearances in Wynberg and Khayelitsha Magistrates courts on Monday 15 November 2021 to face the charges against them.
