Outsatnding detective work puts 17 wanted suspects behind bars in Kimberley

NORTHERN CAPE - The Kimberley SAPS Detectives followed up on information and conducted a tracing operation which resulted in the apprehension and arrest of 17 wanted suspects.

On Friday, 19 November 2021 between 00:00 and 08:00 vigilant detectives searched 39 premises and pounced on unsuspecting wanted suspects at their homes in Kimberley and surrounding areas.

The suspects are wanted for charges varying from assault GBH, malicious damage to property, theft out of motor vehicles, house breaking and theft and shoplifting.

The 13 males and 4 female suspects will appear in the Kimberley Magistrates' Court soon.

The Frances Baard District Commissioner, Maj Gen Johan Bean commended the  Kimberley SAPS Branch Commander, Col Rassie Victor and the Kimberley Detective unit for their relentless actions and commitment  and thanked the community for cooperation that resulted in the excellent arrests. “The actions forms part of the Safer Festive Season operations and police will continue unabatedly to ensure that criminals are removed from the streets and brought to justice,” said Gen Bean.
