GAUTENG – Supermarket payroll administrators, Mitchelle James (33) and Wendy Sefuli (28) appeared in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court today on charges of fraud and theft.

It is alleged that between March and October 2020, the two females employed by Savemoor in Brakpan allegedly created fraudulent invoices for bundle purchase clients investment accounts and kept money for themselves.

In October last year during collection day, Savemoor management noticed suspicious invoice numbers from their clients with a loss of R925 491.

The matter was reported to the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team in Germiston.

The duo handed themselves in at the Hawks’ office today and were subsequently charged with fraud and theft.

James and Sefuli appeared in court on the same day and were granted a bail of R5000 and R1000 respectively.

The case was postponed to 09 December 2021 for legal representation and further investigation.
