WESTERN CAPE - On Thursday 09 November 2023, members attached to Operation Shanela deployed in Harare area for high density and crime prevention duties arrested two adult males for the possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

The members were busy with stop and search operations and patrols in Harare when they noticed a white light delivery vehicle driving with a high speed without lights passing police vehicles.  A high speed chase ensued and the vehicle was forced to come a halt when it drove into a wall on the corner of Max Sisulu and Tambo Streets, Harare. The suspects fled on foot with police members closely behind and apprehended them. The vehicle was recovered and booked in at the Bellville South vehicle storage facility for safe keeping.

The suspects will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court once they have been charged.
