DURBAN – Greytown police joined forces in the fight against crime by conducting disruptive operations in the area. The operation was carried out on 2 February 2022.

Whilst police were conducting operations at Ngome, they spotted a bakkie with seven men. Upon searching the men, one of the men was found in unlawful possession of a rifle. On further investigation, it was established that the firearm was linked to a house robbery that took place in Gauteng during 2008.

The 30-year-old suspect was placed under arrest for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. The suspect appeared before the Greytown Magistrates Court yesterday. He was remanded in custody until 10 February 2022.
