A successful, combined intelligence driven operation yield positive results when a 31-year-old suspect was arrested at Aliwal North.

Members of the Aliwal North crime intelligence office and Pops unit followed up information on the 10 February 2022 at about 14:00.

The suspect was traveling from Bloemfontein in a taxi.

The vehicle was identified and searched at the police station.

The members managed to arrest a 31-year-old male suspect and confiscate 400 mandrax tablets to the value of R40 000-00 that was part of his luggage.

The suspect will appear today in the Aliwal North magistrate court on the charge of possession of drugs.

The acting District Commissioner Brig Rudolph Adolph commended the combined effort and successful arrest and confiscation of the large quantity of drugs.
