BETHLEHEM - The Bloemfontein High Court seated in the Bethlehem Magistrate court today handed down 24 years direct imprisonment to a 31-year-old man of Intabazwe near Harrismith for the rape of a seven-year-old minor.

During February 2018 the accused, went to fetch the victim at her grandmother’s house and took her to his house where he raped her. He also threatened to kill her if she told anyone.

Fortunately the minor broke the silence and the accused was arrested. He remained on trial for the past four years until he was found guilty and sentenced. The case was investigated by Harrismith Detective Service.
