Rapist jailed for 20 years

KING WILLIAM'S TOWN –Willowvale Regional Magistrate’s Court sentenced 43 year-old convicted rapist Sabela Ngcizela to undergo 20 years imprisonment. The accused was convicted of raping the 65 year old woman on Thursday 22 January 2015. It is alleged that the accused was working as a shepherd at Maqhugqwini Location Dadamba Village Willowvale. On the 07 September 2014 at about 18:00 he approached the 65 year-old woman and requested her to boil eggs for him. The victim who was staying alone refused to cook the eggs for the accused.

The accused who was not employed by the victim attacked the latter and pushed her to the bed. He then raped the victim after he severely assaulted her. The victim reported the rape to her neighbours. A case of rape was opened at Willowvale Police Station and the accused was arrested on 08 September 2014. He was convicted and sentenced to undergo 20 years imprisonment on Thursday 22 January 2015 at Willowvale Regional Magistrate’s Court.
