A case of theft against a 24-year-old security officer was postponed today, 27 January 2015 at the Bafokeng Magistrates’ Court.

Police arrested a security officer after he allegedly stole five truck batteries from a client’s business premises at Zinniaville Industrial area. According to the police reports, the batteries were stolen on Sunday, 18 January 2015. 

The suspect was on duty at the site when the batteries were taken. On Sunday, 25 January 2015, members of Tlhabane Crime Prevention received a tipoff from a member of the community about the batteries that were hidden inside a shanty at YizoYizo informal settlement. They followed up the information and proceeded to the identified place.   Police searched the room and confiscated four Dixon batteries to the value of R12 000.
