PRETORIA - Today another suspect has made a brief appearance in the Alexander Court in Gauteng on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder.

The accused, Welcome Nkanyiso Mafunda (33) was arrested on Wednesday, 26 March 2014 following investigations by the team of detectives that is tasked with the "Krecjir" investigation.

This accused is alleged to have been part of a group that conspired to kill Crime Intelligence operative, Colonel Ximba and Forensic Investigator, Mr Paul O'Sullivan earlier this year.

On 9 January 2014 the first four suspects (4) suspects, Siboniso Mia, Zodumo Simphiwe Biyela, Jacob Nare and Owen Serero were arrested at a lodge in Rinonia, Sandton. Subsequent to that one female police sergeant, Nandi Nkosi and Radovan Krecjir.

The arrest of Mafunda brings the total to seven the number of suspects arrested in connection with this case.

Mafunda appeared briefly in the Alexandra/Wynburg Magistrates Court today and he has been remanded in custody until 7 April 2014.
