GAUTENG - The team of investigators established to probe the four murders in Tshwane has cracked the Eersterust murder case by arresting a suspect in Polokwane during the early hours of 4 August 2025.

The team made a breakthrough into the investigations of the discovery of a woman’s body in a shallow grave at an open field along Swartberg Street in Eersterust on Thursday, 31 July 2025. The woman had been reported missing at SAPS Sunnyside on 4 July 2025.

Investigations led to the identification of a possible suspect and the team found that he had fled to Polokwane. Acting swiftly, the team traced the suspect to a residence in Polokwane and, at approximately 02:00, a 36-year-old man was arrested.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 6 August 2025, where he will face a charge of murder.
