Media Statement DUTYWA - SAPS detectives are searching for a suspect after a 78-year-old female's body was found by her family Sunday night, the 29 May 2022 at about 17:30 in KwaTshweni Location, Dutywa. It is alleged that her family left her alone on Friday to other location for a family gathering. She was last seen by neighbours on Saturday, 28 May 2022 afternoon, collecting sheep from the grazing camp. On Sunday afternoon, 29 May 2022 at about 17:30 the family arrived and discovered her body lying on the sponge mattress. They immediately alerted the police. A case of murder is under investigation and no arrests effected yet. The circumstances surrounding the incident forms part of the investigation. The deceased sustained serious injuries on the upper body. It has not yet been established what type of instrument was used in the commission of this serious crime. The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene has expressed shock at yet another incident involving the killing of a Woman. She immediately ordered the police to trace and arrest the perpetrator of this heinous crime.
