On Friday 18 April 2014 at about 14:10 members of Port Shepstone K9 Unit together with Port Shepstone Crime Prevention arrested a 35-year-old suspect for possession of drugs. It is alleged that members were patrolling Merle wood area while on observation they noticed a suspicious vehicle dropping off a suspect at a house in Merle wood. A while later the suspect appeared in the door way and alighted into the vehicle and drove off. The members intercepted the vehicle and searched him. He was found in possession of fifty straws of heroine to the street value of R1750-00 and was subsequently arrested.

On Saturday at about 16:15 the members proceeded to the same house and arrested two brothers aged 62 and 64 for possession of drugs after they were found with 1234 straws of heroin and five rocks of cocaine to the street value of R50 000. All arrested suspects will appear in Port Shepstone Magistrates' Court today, 22 April 2014 for possession of drugs.
